WHY IS SUSTAINABILITY OUR RESPONSIBILITY

Sustainability is important for a variety of reasons that include our salon environment. In order to have a healthy environment for our clients & team members, we need clean air, natural resources, and a nontoxic environment. Sustainability and healthcare are intricately related, since the quality of our environment affects public health. As a result, we do not offer Brazilian Blowout services at our Salon, due to the known negative affects on health.

REFILL STATION

Our salon is Certified Sustainable, with up to 95% of all our beauty waste recovered and repurposed by Green Circle Salons. Resources that were once considered waste materials such as hair, leftover hair color, foils, color tubes and aerosol cans are now being recycled. This helps keep millions pounds of waste out of landfills each year.

  • Filtered Tap Spa Water
  • Glass Cups (no disposables in landfill)

A CULTURE THAT CARES

Each salon visit has an Impact on the environment
Because hair, metals & chemical residue cannot be treated by most municipalities, this waste would end up in our landfills & waterways.

Now, through our partnership with Green Circle Salons

  • Hair clippings are turned into hair booms that are used to clean up oil spills, or are made into pillows for international aid efforts.
  • Color tubes & used foils are turned into new metal – and chemical residue is turned into new sources of energy.

WHAT ELSE DID WE DO

Salon Nuuvo was designed under LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) Specifications, an international recognized green building certification system for water efficiency, energy savings, CO2 emissions – Salon Nuuvo is certified as a Green Circle Salon, and earned the City of Calabasas Green Business Distinction for our Eco Friendly Initiatives. Our sustainability procedures include a tankless water heater, water conserving aerator faucets, LED lights & energy efficient appliances.
